Tao Nan School has started the newspaper recycling program since 2008. Representatives from each class bring down the newspapers and scrap papers collected by their respective classes for the whole week every Friday. Teachers at the counters will weigh the newspapers and record down the weight each week. At the end of each term, the class in each level wins a prize. There is also an overall champion in the whole school.

Other than this weekly recycling activity, Tao Nan also participates in other activities which not only help to reduce, reuse and recycle resources, also help the less fortunate. Project Green Gift is one of the many activities that Tao Nan School participates in. This activity takes place yearly and Uniform Group members go around classes collecting used textbooks and books from students who have no need for their old books any longer at the end of the year. The books will then be given out to those less fortunate who do not have the financial ability to purchase new books.
